Overview
3M Scotchcal Gloss Overlaminate 8518 is a 2 mil, highly conformable clear cast vinyl overlaminate on a polyester liner. It gives printed graphics a wet-paint look (gloss >80 at 60°), resists fuel vapors, and per 3M's 2026 product bulletin has an expected performance life of eight years (unwarranted period, flat vertical outdoor surface).
3M recommends 8518 for fleet and vehicle wraps, watercraft, transit, labels, thermoformable graphics, smooth walls, and windows and glass. It is a matched 3M laminate for the 3M wrap films in our range, IJ180Cv3 and IJ180mC-10, and is also listed for Controltac 40C and Scotchlite IJ680CR reflective.

Printer compatibility
Laminates are not printed. The 54" or 60" rolls cover prints from the 64" HP Latex 570. Laminate HP Latex 570 prints only after they have fully cured and cooled; latex prints come out dry, but follow the film maker's guidance before laminating.
