Overview
3M Scotchcal Luster Overlaminate 8519 is 3M's workhorse cast overlaminate: a 2 mil, highly conformable clear cast vinyl with a luster finish (gloss >70 at 60°) on a kraft paper liner. It resists fuel vapors and, per 3M's 2026 bulletin, has an expected performance life of eight years (unwarranted, flat vertical outdoor surface).
Luster softens glare while keeping colors saturated, which makes 8519 a versatile choice for fleet and vehicle wraps, watercraft, transit, labels, thermoformable graphics and smooth walls. 3M lists it for IJ180Cv3, IJ180mC-10, Controltac 40C and Scotchlite IJ680CR in our range.
For a gloss wet-paint look choose 8518; for a flat look choose 8520 matte or 8915 ultra-matte. For flat-only signage, the calendered 8509 is less expensive.

Printer compatibility
Laminates are not printed. The 54" or 60" rolls cover prints from the 64" HP Latex 570. Laminate HP Latex 570 prints only after they have fully cured and cooled; latex prints come out dry, but follow the film maker's guidance before laminating.
