Overview
3M Scotchcal Matte Overlaminate 8520 is the matte version of 8519: a 2 mil clear cast vinyl overlaminate (gloss <30 at 60°) on a kraft paper liner. It resists fuel vapors, is highly conformable and, per 3M's 2026 bulletin, has an expected performance life of eight years (unwarranted, flat vertical outdoor surface).
Matte is ideal indoors or anywhere glare is a concern, and gives vehicle wraps a distinctive flat look. 8520 is the only member of 3M's 8518/8519/8520/8914/8915 family that is UL Classified for slip resistance (UL 410), so it is also 3M's cast choice for floor graphics.
3M lists 8520 for IJ180Cv3, IJ180mC-10 and Controltac 40C in our range. For an even flatter finish, see 8915 ultra-matte.

Printer compatibility
Laminates are not printed. The 54" or 60" rolls cover prints from the 64" HP Latex 570. Laminate HP Latex 570 prints only after they have fully cured and cooled; latex prints come out dry, but follow the film maker's guidance before laminating.
