Overview
3M Scotchcal Gloss Overlaminate 8508 is a 2.6 mil non-cast (calendered) clear vinyl overlaminate with a gloss finish (gloss >65 at 60°). 3M lists an expected performance life of four years (unwarranted period, flat vertical outdoor surface) for application surfaces that are flat or have simple curves.
3M recommends 8508 for intermediate graphics, transit, labels, signage, smooth walls, and windows and glass. It is the gloss member of 3M's calendered overlaminate family with 8509 luster and 8510M matte, and is the matched 3M laminate for intermediate print films like 3M Controltac 40C and Scotchcal IJ35C.
8508 is not listed for floor graphics; use 8509 or 8510M, which are UL Classified for slip resistance. For vehicle wraps over compound curves, use a cast laminate such as 3M 8518 or 8519.

Printer compatibility
Laminates are not printed. The 54" or 60" rolls cover prints from the 64" HP Latex 570. Laminate HP Latex 570 prints only after they have fully cured and cooled; latex prints come out dry, but follow the film maker's guidance before laminating.
