Overview
3M Scotchcal Luster Overlaminate 8509 is a 3 mil non-cast (calendered) clear vinyl overlaminate with a luster finish (gloss >55 at 60°). 3M lists an expected performance life of four years (unwarranted period, flat vertical outdoor surface) on flat surfaces and simple curves.
8509 is UL Classified for slip resistance under UL 410, so beyond signage, labels, transit, smooth walls and windows it is one of two 8500-series calendered laminates 3M lists for floor graphics. The luster finish cuts glare compared with gloss while keeping colors rich.
It is the matched calendered laminate for 3M Controltac 40C and Scotchcal IJ35C. For wraps over compound curves, choose the cast 3M 8519 luster instead.

Printer compatibility
Laminates are not printed. The 54" or 60" rolls cover prints from the 64" HP Latex 570. Laminate HP Latex 570 prints only after they have fully cured and cooled; latex prints come out dry, but follow the film maker's guidance before laminating.
