First: What Does RIP Software Actually Do?

A RIP (Raster Image Processor) sits between your design files and your printer. Wide-format printers like the HP Latex 570 or Epson SureColor S-Series can't print a PDF directly — they need every pixel translated into precise ink-drop instructions, with color mapped to the exact media you've loaded. The RIP does that translation, and in a busy shop it's also where jobs get nested, tiled, queued, and tracked. If the RIP is slow, the whole shop is slow.
