Overview

3M Controltac Print Film 40C is a versatile 3 mil removable calendered vinyl. The pressure-activated Controltac adhesive and Comply air-release channels make installation fast, easy and bubble-free, and graphics come off cleanly when the promotion ends. This SKU is the opaque white gloss version (40C-10R); the film is rated up to 7 years.

40C covers general signage, POP, windows, walls, trucks and partial vehicle graphics on flat and simple-curve surfaces, and 3M also documents it for indoor floor and carpet graphics with the right laminate. It is the go-to when one film needs to do many jobs and removability matters.

3M recommends 8508, 8509, 8510M, 8048G, 8050M, 8518, 8519, 8520, 3645 and 3647 for protection (see 3M's Recommended Overlaminates document). For a permanent version use 3M IJ35C; for full wraps over compound curves step up to a cast film such as IJ180Cv3.

Printer compatibility

The HP Latex 570 is a 64" roll-to-roll printer, so this 54" roll loads normally. The manufacturer lists latex inks as compatible; use the film maker's HP Latex media profile (or the closest HP generic preset for this film type), let prints fully cure, and run a test panel before production.
