A CNC router turns printed graphics into finished signs: cut-to-shape panels, dimensional letters, carved HDU signs and lit acrylic faces. This category pairs the tooling and the substrates most sign shops cut every day. Router bits: Belin single O-flute upcut bits are solid carbide with a polished flute that clears chips fast, so plastics don't melt and re-weld. Use the plastic/wood series for acrylic, PVC, foam boards, HDU and MDO, and the aluminum series for ACM and non-ferrous metals. Pick a length of cut just longer than your material for maximum rigidity. (Belin became part of LMT Onsrud in January 2026.) Substrates: Duratex cast acrylic routes and engraves cleanly and comes in clear or White 7328 for lit faces. Palight Premium PVC is a smooth, printable foam board in 3, 6 and 12 mm. MAXMETAL is 3 mm ACM painted on both sides for outdoor signs. Duna CORAFOAM 15 lb HDU carves crisp dimensional signs with a lifetime outdoor warranty. 3A Gatorfoam is a rigid, lightweight board for mounted prints. Primed MDO is traditional paint-grade sign plywood, and 4 mm corrugated plastic is the economy choice for yard and event signs. The HP Latex 570 is roll-fed, so it cannot print on these boards directly. Print on adhesive vinyl, laminate, mount, then route.
