Overview

The HP Latex 830 is the high-productivity model in HP's 64" latex line. It shares the 730's image quality (vivid color, sharp 4-point text and HP Pixel Control uniformity) but uses 3-liter HP 873 cartridges with hot swap, so ink can be changed without stopping the job.

HP lists production speeds up to 388 ft²/hr and up to 1,313 ft²/hr maximum at up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, with an embedded spectrophotometer for custom ICC profiles. It is built for shops running long, unattended jobs where ink changes and downtime are expensive.

Buying guidance: compare total expense per square foot, not just the machine price: ink cartridge size, white ink, rigid capability and width drive both price and running expense. Our HP 871A/831A inks and HP 831 printheads fit the HP Latex 570/560/300 series only; this printer uses its own HP 873 supplies.
